Therapy That Works
Practical, evidence-based therapy for people who are ready to take back control of their lives and be an active participant in their progress.
Individual therapy
Whatever your goals, we will collaboratively understand your needs and work together to make your life the one you have dreamed of.
Who I Work With
I work with adults, adolescents, and college students across a range of presenting concerns. A large portion of my clients are people who are driven, capable, and used to solving problems on their own, but who have hit a wall with something therapy can actually help. I also work extensively with athletes on the mental side of performance, and with couples who want to strengthen their relationship or work through something specific.
Couples therapy
Whether you are thinking about a future together or have been together for years and need to find a new way of relating, couples therapy can help strengthen bonds and heal communication deficits.
Teen and adolescent therapy
No matter what your teen or adolescent is struggling with, we will work together without compromising their feelings of security and confidentiality and keep the parent in the loop as necessary for treatment.
What to Expect
Step 1: Free 15-minute consultation
We start with a short call before either of us commits to anything. You can ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and we can decide whether we are a good fit. If not, I'll tell you honestly, and I can help point you toward someone who might be a better match. I want you to match with the right clinician for you.
Step 2: Intake session
If we decide to move forward, the first full session is an intake. It is not a traditional therapy session; it feels like a targeted interview. We go over your history and background, talk through what's been going on, and clarify what you're hoping to get out of therapy. By the end of the session, we'll have a clearer picture of your goals and a working sense of how we'll approach them together. You don't need to have everything figured out before you show up.
Step 3: Ongoing sessions
Sessions are 45 minutes, weekly to start. We build a clear, practical plan and work with it. We check in on progress regularly and adjust as needed. The plan is always flexible work in progress, as we know that life never moves the way we plan and adapting is a valuable skill in itself. As you make progress, we can shift to every other week or a maintenance schedule. There's no set timeline. The pace is yours to set, and we'll always be transparent about where things stand.
Logistics
-
I am a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. The full session fee is billed at the time of service. I provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. To find out what you might be reimbursed, call the member services number on your insurance card and ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits before we begin. Every plan is different, and insurance is inherently confusing.
-
Working outside of insurance means more control for your permanent health record, complete confidentiality (your care isn't shared with your insurance company), and more flexibility in how we structure our work together. For clients who value privacy or want care that isn't dictated by insurance requirements, private pay is often the better fit.
-
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and HSA or FSA cards.
-
All sessions are via telehealth on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. No commute, no waiting room, and you can join from wherever you actually are. I'm licensed in Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia, and I hold PSYPACT authorization, which means I can also work with clients in participating states across the country.
-
I ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations will be charged the full session fee.
Fees
-
Free
I offer a free 15-minute consultation. In this session, you will get a sense of my style, therapeutic approach, and understand if we are a good fit.
-
Fee: $275
The intake session is a comprehensive understanding of your presenting concerns and goals for treatment. We will collaboratively discuss treatment goals and planning while understanding the clinical presentation of symptoms.
-
Fee: $250
Individual sessions are 45 minutes and are scheduled at an agreed-upon cadence for optimal therapeutic benefit. Extended hour long sessions are available for an additional fee.
-
Fee: $275
Due to the complexity of working with two individuals at once, couples sessions are charged at a higher fee. Sessions are collaborative in nature and focus on the couple as the client, rather than two individuals.
